As the weather begins to heat up, school comes to a stop and all of the students begin their long-awaited summer break. But these long breaks, void of any additional learning, can have some serious repercussions. Long summer breaks have been proven to cause some kids to struggle when getting back into the swing of things come fall.

The Summer Slide

Studies have shown that “on average, students lose 2 months of reading skills over the summer.” This can be troublesome as students begin school again and have to spend more time getting caught up on the education that they have forgotten. Come fall, school begins once again and “9 in 10 teachers spend at least three weeks re-teaching lessons at the start of the school year.” Due to this, it is important that students use their free time during the summer wisely.

Summer Camps at Coder Kids are a great way to keep kids off the couch during the summer and help them continue to learn. With over 4 dozen courses there are classes for everyone to enjoy.

Courses We Provide

Kids have a substantial amount of free time during the summer. Instead of sitting around playing Fortnite or Minecraft. They could learn some useful skills about how those games work which would benefit them a whole lot more in the future. Coder Kids offers classes to learn about “Coding a Fortnite Battle Royale”, “Python Coding in Minecraft”, and even “Java Coding in Minecraft.” Every course is designed for each Coder Kid to learn at their own pace and level.
